ABOUT ME

Jessica’s artwork is a reflection of how she experiences her community: powerful, unique, culturally rich, and resistant. Each piece carries a story rooted in her identity as the daughter of immigrants from Mexico and El Salvador, a proud Watsonville native, and a dedicated advocate for the arts.

Explore the art of Carrasco Concepts—designs that blend identity, creativity, and purpose.

Beyond creating art, Carrasco Concepts is also dedicated to giving back. A portion of the brand’s sticker proceeds helps fund the Born and Raised in Watsonville Scholarship, which Jessica launched in 2018 to support Pajaro Valley Unified School District (PVUSD) high school seniors with financial needs.

Celebrating Youth Art in Watsonville

Every year, my daughter Ariel and I make it a tradition to cheer on our local youth artists at the Wildcatz Art Exhibition. This year, we managed an hour—pretty good for a 5-year-old! Seeing the incredible work these students create fills me with pride and hope. I tell Ariel, “One day, mamas, your art will be up here too!” Huge thanks to Ms. Webb and Wildcatz Art for inspiring our next generation of creators. Supporting young talent is what drives me, both as an artist and an educator.

Cultivarte: Growing Watsonville’s Creative Roots

On March 23, 2025, I’m teaming up with Mayra Valtierra to bring you Cultivarte, Arte del Corazón’s first fundraising art exhibition. It’s a celebration of Watsonville’s creative spirit—local artists, poetry, youth talent, and art you can take home. Join us from 2-5 PM at our Freedom studio for an open reception filled with music, interviews, and community love. Every piece sold and every donation helps us keep uplifting local artists. Let’s grow this creative family together!

Aquí Estamos: Watsonville Strong

Watsonville, CA—my home, our home. On March 2, 2025, I stood with my community to say loud and clear: “Aquí estamos, y no nos vamos!” There are no “illegals” here—just resilient people building a future together. Inspired by the strawberry fields and the unbreakable spirit of this town, I create art that honors our unity. Through Carrasco Concepts, I’m proud to support Watsonville, from scholarships to creative spaces. Together, we’ll never be defeated.
